MICHAEL EDLMOSER had to travel to California
to discover that wine can be an “incredibly
wonderful thing”. Upon his return, he was
filled with ideas and was determined to make major changes
at his parent’s winery in MAUER.
Already the first harvest that he was responsible for
in 1998 produced a Riesling that was immediately celebrated
as Vienna’s top wine. This gave Edlmoser the confirmation
to continue, although some more established colleagues
brushed him off as a mere youngster

| Today Edlmoser produces approximately
60,000 bottles per year. He uses his onological experience
acquired along with the winery, which has been in family
hands since 1374, and continues to make no
compromises. The grapes are hand selected and
modern technology is implemented to gently support nature.
The results are wines with a discrete
style and great elegance.
