The dedicated vintner RAINER
CHRIST works the soil of Bisamberg together with
his father Franz – a cooperation of nearly symbolic
significance as the interplay of
tradition and innovation is a leitmotif of the
ambitious business. The vineyard looks back on a 400-year-old
tradition as it tends the inheritance of its first-class
location, which contains in part extremely old vines.
In 2005, the winery in JEDLERSDORF
was rebuilt and expanded; parts of the old building
were carefully renovated. A mixture of natural stone,
wood, and concrete has created a bodacious, stylish,
and modern architecture.

| The Christ family love wines
with structure and finesse that do not reveal
themselves immediately with the first sip, but instead,
slowly find ever more fans among connoisseurs. Grüne
Veltliner is one of their showcase wines. In addition,
Rainer Christ has also been dedicating increasing attention
to white Burgunder varieties and to the red wines.
“Wine requires enthusiasm”
says Rainer Christ. “When
making wine it is necessary to resolve to achieve something
extraordinary.”
